"The ancient words of Torah unroll like a map of the soul, each letter a world of meaning."
◈ Overview
Judaism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions, with approximately 15 million adherents worldwide. Dating back over 3,000 years, it originated with the covenant between God and Abraham, and was further defined by Moses receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai.
Central to Judaism is the Torah (the first five books of the Hebrew Bible), the Talmud, and the concept of halakha (Jewish law). The religion emphasizes ethical monotheism, the importance of community, and the pursuit of justice (tikkun olam - repairing the world).
Judaism teaches that humans are created in God's image and have free will to choose between good and evil. Study, prayer, and righteous action are pathways to a meaningful life.
