Overview

Hinduism is the world's oldest living religion, with approximately 1.2 billion followers, primarily in India and Nepal. Unlike most religions, it has no single founder, developing organically over thousands of years from Vedic traditions.

Central concepts include dharma (righteous living), karma (action and consequence), samsara (cycle of rebirth), and moksha (liberation). The sacred texts include the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Hinduism embraces diversity, recognizing multiple paths to the divine. It teaches that the ultimate reality (Brahman) manifests in countless forms, allowing worshippers to connect with the divine in personal ways.
